THE SOFTWARE IS GEARED TO DESIGN OFFICES, TECHNICAL ENGINEERING OFFICES AND PROFESSIONALS PERFORMING ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENTS. IT IS A SIMPLE, STRAIGHTFORWARD PROGRAM THAT BASES ITS CASE STUDY ANALYSES ON DATA READILY AVAILABLE FROM THE PLANS AND PROJECT DATA.
MAGIC® MAKES IT POSSIBLE TO STUDY:
- Single sources (power lines, cables, multi-conductor systems, transformers) through two- and three-dimensional configurations obtained integrating the Biot-Savar law.
- Complex systems, such as MV/LV electrical substations, taking into account the three-dimensionality of the sources, their actual position and superposing the effects of the various substation components. Particular attention has been given to the modelling of components such as power transformers in transformer substations.
MV/LV substations with up to 6 transformers, tracing the buffer zones for environmental impact assessment, optimising arrangement of the components during the design stage to minimise the magnetic field generated, assessing whether magnetic field mitigation measures are required for existing or planned substations, all without needing to take measurements.
Magnetic fields generated by cable lines, or cable line systems (underground, in cable trays, cable ducts, cable troughs, etc.), determining the cable configuration that minimises magnetic field generation and generating graphical outputs that can be directly used in environmental impact assessments.
Magnetic fields generated by overhead power lines in arbitrary configuration (n power lines with crossed, side-by-side, close spans, etc.). It is possible to assess both the IDA and the buffer zone.
The need to assess the IDA (initial distance approximation) required by Decree 29/05/2008, where the method for calculation — the procedure for measuring and assessing the magnetic induction generated by power lines in compliance with the principles of Italian Framework Law 36/01 and Italian Council of Ministers Presidential Decree of 8 July 2003 — often requires taking into account the complexity of the sources of the magnetic field under examination, their three-dimensionality and the effect produced by their combined use (overlapping effects).
