Testing

UPON COMPLETING IMPLEMENTATION OF A SHIELDING SYSTEM, BESHIELDING S.R.L. CAN TEST IT BY DIRECTLY MEASURING MAGNETIC INDUCTION IN THE AREAS THAT HAVE BEEN PROTECTED.

The source may be an artificial one, such as a winding powered by a given current; however, to perform a real test, reference must be made to the actual source since the spatial distribution of the magnetic field may prove quite different. Therefore, when installing shields for new systems, one must wait until the source is installed and commissioned.

Measurements are performed in compliance with IEC 106-27, EN 62110 (valid for Italy) which, in the case of fields considered non-uniform, stipulates that, at the point of interest, the magnetic field level must be measured at three heights: 0.5 m, 1.0 m and 1.5 m above the ground or building floor level.

In addition, this regulation stipulates that, in the vicinity of power equipment or inside a building, measurement must be conducted at a horizontal distance of 0.2 m from the surface, edge or a wall.

BEShielding S.r.l. uses only certified instrumentation for testing and such instrumentation is calibrated every two years. BEShielding S.r.l. can perform point testing using portable instrumentation (PMM8053 with EHP50C and EP330 probe) and can ensure monitoring over time using a self-powered fixed station with data logging function (AMB-8057).

At the end of the testing phase, a technical report is prepared comparing the magnetic induction values both without and with the mitigation system.
